In those days, people commonly called the disease “juvenile diabetes” because it was frequently diagnosed in, and strongly associated with, young children. Our organization began as the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. Little Lynn and Damian are T1D kids and they need a cure to make their lives better in future. It’s not so easy to be a T1D child so everyone's donation can make a difference. November is a universal diabetes month so everyone can take part in T1D people’s lives. Damian and Lynn needs cure and every T1D kid needs a cure. JDRF research team does its best to find the cure as soon as possible. Lynn is a wonderful little boy who at his six seems to know all the danger of T1D, but little Damian, who is only two, can only repeat this queer name of T1D. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. The body breaks down the sugars and starches you eat into a simple sugar called glucose, which it uses for energy. Insulin is a hormone that the body needs to get glucose from the bloodstream into the cells of the body. With the help of insulin therapy and other treatments, even young children can learn to manage their condition and live long, healthy lives.
