Are you trying to spawn slimes in your adventure map but having no luck? Attention mapmakers: here is some information on Slime Spawners. I'm not referring to Slime Farms. I'm talking about the little spawner cages. Slime Spawners are harder to get working than any other spawner because the the block must be inside a slime chunk. With a bit of testing and some luck, I demonstrate how this works. If you are interested in using a Slime Spawner, this video should help you. Over 10 minutes to poorly explain the concept...

Think I'm gonna file this under "bug", since slime spawners not working outside of natural spawning areas is unintended behavior. Kinda frustrating that this hasn't been fixed yet, but then again there's a lot of broken, bugged, or unfinished things that haven't been updated for a few years, so this "feature" might stick around for a long time... :/

thanks for info, right slime chunk finder time ;)

I'm glad you made this video. Thanks. I've got a modded factions map downloaded for console. Tried making a slime farm in the nether last night and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. This explains it! Time to go hunt down a slime chunk!

how do you know what chunk you are in. such as "slime chunks"
-
Had that one on the list, emailed the creator to ask which version to showcase. No response. So I wasn't sure which to show since there are 10 I think. I can do one of the default versions but which resolution?
-
You think you could do R3D craft (default realism) looks default but not!!!
-
I haven't tested the (8) in another chunk but I bet it's true. Which is why I said "you should be able"... Anyway, I'll add another annotation to clarify that my friend.

Gah! You're right about the X:40. Clearly, I meant Y:40 since I wrote the word "below". But thanks for pointing that out. I wasn't saying you can use my X and Z coordinates to find a slime chunk. I'm not sure why you thought that, since I only pointed out the X and Z at the beginning to show where the C (chunk coordinates) where. I was saying you should be able to have the slimes spawn strongly centered at the c:(8) coordinates in a slime chunk.
