More than a million migrants and refugees crossed into Europe in 2015. It turns out that with no way to support themselves, many have had to put up with little or no work, meagre pay when they get work, and life in squalid conditions. Some are being exploited in orange farms in Italy.

I used to work on a ship in Europe and got fired, long story. Next day someone stole my luggage and passport which takes a minimum 6 months to replace, so got stuck there. Slept on a beach for 3 months. No social-welfare help whatsoever. Found a job, worked illegally in phone sales for a year until I replaced the passport and left. I have no sympathies or patience to listen to these migrant - always Muslim or African - sob stories. They wash up on a beach with no skills and high freebie expectations. The vast majority refuse to work expecting welfare and handouts. They just steal knowing the police doesn't arrest migrants for petty crimes, and get into hash dealing from North Africa.
