Added Value is a non-profit organization promoting the sustainable development of Red Hook by nurturing a new generation of young leaders. When the only full-service grocery store in Red Hook closed in 2001, Added Value began a farmer's market to bring healthy, affordable food back to the neighborhood. And in 2003, they started the Red Hook Community Farm, which employs young people from the neighborhood. PolicyLink visited the farm to hear about all that Added Value is doing to promote equity in healthy food access in the community.
