A group of Zimbabwean academics living and working in Cape Town have defied the odds in the Western Cape's agricultural industry, with an ambitious farming project. The group wanted to grow green mielies,which are in short supply in the city and rented a piece a land from a local farmer. What they've managed to do, is create some of the best yielding crops from previously unproductive lands, and have become the envy of many local farmers.
