4980View

A view out of the window when travelling between Chigwell and Roding valley stations in Essex (ie: outside of London). During the journey we see the M11 motorway and behind the lineside vegetation we see part of a farm. Filmed in January 2009, when the trees were without leaves. This section of railway first opened in 1903, as part of the Great Eastern Railway using trains pulled by steam locomotives. (Roding Valley opened later and has subsequently been rebuilt). The line became part of the London Underground in 1948, when steam trains were replaced by electric tube trains.
