Londonderry, New Hampshire is bordered on the north by the city of Manchester and on the east by the town of Derry. With a population of about 25,000 residents, Londonderry is known for its apple orchards and is home to the headquarters of Stonyfield Farm and partial home to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. This four bedroom home at 26 Woodbine Drive is located at the end of a cul de sac. Just 12 minutes to MHT and 15-20 minutes to downtown Manchester makes this an ideal commuting location. And if you work in Boston, without traffic it's an easy hour commute. The current homeowner says "I was attracted to the neighborhood because my kids could play safely without me worrying. We loved the quiet cul de sac, and the huge finished basement for our kids. It's a very friendly neighborhood filled with lots of children. Right next door are 4 girls between 9-15 years old, and lots of pre-teenage kids as well - perfect babysitters! We have had had several block parties where they close off the street and have BBQs, games and contests. It's a very neighborly community with people willing to help each other out with projects, and kids that all play together. The varied wildlife is always a joy... we have seen deer, fox, and lots of bunnies and squirrels. There is also some great bird watching as well. In the summer, the landscape bursts with color... we have Weigela bushes that bloom lipstick red all summer in the front, as well as Ninebark shrubs with white fragrant flowers, and leaves that change color in the fall. There is a giant forsythia bush in front with lots of yellow flowers. Along one side of the house is a row of lilacs that smell gorgeous - the other side are cherry trees that are my favorite blooms in the spring. We planted two weeping cherry trees...one in front and one in back and last year we added a Japanese maple out back as well. It's very close to all of the schools; elementary, middle, & high school. Manchester is going through a "restaurant renaissance" and we've enjoyed all the new great places to eat.  We like going to Fisher Cat games at the stadium and Monarch games at the Verizon.  We've attended many concerts at the Verizon as well. I spent many summer and fall hours sitting out on the back deck or on the front porch swing just reading and enjoying the quiet neighborhood.  Many times we commented how quiet it is even on the weekends.  The backyard is an oasis in the summer with the pool and deck.  Other seasons, we enjoyed walking (or cross country skiing) through the Londonderry orchards.  In winter, it's fun to just hunker down next to the fire and watch some movies with the family. The dining room is so large and the fact that it connects right to the kitchen and family room made this house perfect for entertaining. You can easily have a huge party or fit 40 people for dinner on holidays!   The kids made the best use out of the finished lower level...They would spend all weekend down there playing video games, ping-pong and watching tv with their friends - it was nice for us to have room upstairs for everyone to gather together for family functions and dinners together or allow everyone to have their space when they wanted it! The finished lower level is a great cozy area for kids. We chose Londonderry because we loved the feel of the town and how quintessential New England it feels - the orchards, the horse farms and we really fell in love with this house so much that it could have been anywhere and we still would have loved it!
