Raising pigs has been a life-long passion for Jarrod Bakker who grew up on a farrow-to-finish pig farm near Dike, Iowa. Bakker and his wife are excited to now be raising their three kids, Caden, Cooper and Olivia, on a pig farm. Bakker and his wife, along with his brother, Jordan, own Bakker Bros. Genetics – a 50-sow farm that markets 1,000 pigs annually. Bakker also works for Fast Genetics, where he sells breeding stock to farmers across the country. “I would tell any consumer that we raise pigs with the utmost care,” said Bakker. “Our industry is filled with caregivers who would never compromise the safety of the animals we’re raising or the integrity of the food we’re producing.”
