Baltimore, Md., June 26, 2016 – Baugher's Orchard has been a working fruit and vegetable farm since 1904 in Carrol County, Maryland. The roots of the "Baugher" family began in Germany in 1725 with the birth of Johannes Georgius Bager. He came to the United States in 1752, changed his name to Baugher. Baugher's Orchard and Farm Market has over 600 acres of fruits, vegetables, and activities! People come over there to pick up Strawberries, Cherries, Peaches, Plums, and Apples & More! “I still work and pay the bills and my children are very involved, we could not do without a family a farm situation and business means a lot to the family,” said Margery Baugher who is an owner of Baugher’s Orchard. Initially, they started out, as a 60-acre piece of land, has become a 600-acre operation, and one of the largest orchards in Maryland. Now a bustling business enterprise in two locations in Westminster, Maryland, Baughers is still family-owned and operated. On 1983 has marked the first foray into agro-tourism with Pick Your Own strawberries. From that time to today, Baugher’s has continued to grow, in retail and wholesale sales of fresh fruit and in agri-tourism offerings.
